The openers Hard Candy and American Girls are Crows style macho anthemic rock, well delivered catchy uptempo stuff but Good Time follows with a more soulful, expressive Duritz vocal that is perhaps more representative of this album as a whole with keyboards to the fore. I had never come accross the counting crows before I found this album. The Title Track HARD CANDY is absolutely fantastic, as is Good Time, Goodnight L.A is a little slower however still has that heavy vibe to it.
